Friend-fly
On a lazy afternoon, August 2009, I was savouring the last few days of summer in our garden. The air was full with the dusty brown aroma of the earth, soaked with the first rainfall. The sky, still partially clouded and the tree tops glimmering with the sunbeams through the dark clouds.
Suddenly a narrow flash of electric green darting off to my right.Intrigued, I watched what looked like an airborne needle zig, then zag between the cattails, hover in place for what seemed like an eternity and then flit over the water and out of sight. It was to my surprise was a beautiful Dragonfly.
I ran home for my Camera; Came back, to capture these beautiful creations of nature. And through out the whole monsoon I met with many of these beauties, playing and busy making love. At first it was difficult to get close to them. But over the days they somewhat accepted me, and I was happy to be among them. What attracted me towards them is their happy spirit, like a tireless child they hop around on all the twigs. The males(Dragonflies) have a war like armoured shoulder while the females (damselflies) were slim, shy and was very attractive. In many ways I found a lot of human characteristics in them. And with the end of monsoon they disappeared. Though before they are gone they left me with the sweet memories which I tried to capture,in these images. And whenever I look back at these pictures, I still see them smiling and saying hello to me.
I hope you will enjoy them and next Monsoon they will be your friends too.

The author of http://www.photopeer.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: Any group of geeks will find something to discuss that is of no interest to anyone else yet seems to be universally interesting to them. Thanks for the info.
